I read about this in this morning's op ed piece in the Tyler paper. It is my humble but strong opinion that we Texans must stand on principle and resist taking one red cent from this bill. It is just a pork-filled socialist boondoggle which is going to begin to truly ruin our free country. If Tyler needs more police, then we should deal with it and raise funds at the local level. Please don't allow the local governance to jump on the deficit spending bandwagon. It would be hypocritical to do so while criticizing (rightfully) such liberal, marxist ideologies. I think you are a fantastic mayor, and I am counting on you to lead our elected officials to do the right thing and say, "No thank you" to impending socialism.
